Countdown is coming. The cast is a powerhouse of talent, the story is bound to be as gripping as anything Derek Haas has ever created, and the anticipation is well on its way to a crescendo.
The enthusiasm, buzz, and traction has been building ever since Prime Video announced the premiere of Countdown. Everyone is talking about the show. Fans are stepping up like nothing we’ve seen before. They are posting countdown trackers daily; they’re crafting fan art posters; making gel bracelets and Mark Meachum T-shirts. The chatter online is getting loud and the attention that this show is generating is reaching boss levels.
For this writer, riding shotgun to all this Countdown fanfare, is something deeply personal.
Pinch me, I’m Dreaming!
When I started this independent writing site, I thought I could parlay it into a modest income to make ends meet. In the early days, it was a driving force in my decision making. I learned a hard truth very quickly. Doing this for money meant my focus would have to be about the hustle and not about the writing. So, I let it go. From that moment on, everything began to flow toward me. It became all about the art, the craft, the creativity, the fans and the effortless joy that came with it all.
And now, things I never thought would happen, are on the horizon.
Prime Video PR has sent me an invitation to participate in their press day for Countdown. They also promised to share news with me about the red-carpet event on June 25th. This means my name is on that list, but I’m not approved yet. Once the big boys fill the roster, I may not get my chance. But I’m a firm believer that if it’s meant to be, it will be. I have faith. But what must be acknowledged are the fans. That includes every fan that read these articles, posted about them, boosted them and commented on them. Without you, this message of thanks would not be necessary. Your love for these actors and for the new show Countdown, is shining bright!
We are Getting Noticed!
During the lead up to the premiere, every time I publish an article about Countdown, I don’t just share it with the fans, I share it with Prime Video and with the PR company organizing the activities that are about to be unleashed in the weeks to come. And the sentiments that are being echoed back, are words of thanks.
Behind every successful show are the fans who elevate it. All those who champion their favorite actors, and hold steadfast through the often mercurial changes so prevalent in the entertainment industry. The loyal followers who keep the conversation alive between every project, every episode and every post. It is because of you that Countdown has a tsunami of momentum behind it.
What Happens Next?
Preparation is key. Screening episodes will be required. Those chosen to participate in cast interviews, will be hard at work formulating all their questions. It’s highly recommended that fans be given the opportunity to ask questions of their own.

I love that Theresa. Derek built Chicago PD and Jensen played Sheriff Beau Arlen, so that is a great question for them. I’m sure you saw it, but EW did a Summer Preview Exclusive, and so we got to see and read a little about Countdown. The thing that jumped out at me that I’m really curious about is the potential love triangle that Derek was referring to. He loves to write that stuff so I’m definitely going to want more info on that! Thanks for the Q Theresa… We got our 1st 2 questions – This list has started! 🤣
What are you most excited for fans to see? We know you love the action scenes…did you get to do any exciting stunts?

Question: we know Mark Meacham is a bit rough round the edges, and a lone wolf, but can Jensen elaborate on that? Is Mark a top cop or someone who has problems with authority and gets in trouble? Does he have any special skills? Why was he specifically chosen to be in this task force? Thanks 🙂

First of all Gail congratulations on getting noticed..you deserve it so much. Now for my question. In the photos Mark is wearing a wedding ring. Is he divorced, separated,widowed and how will that impact the love triangle?

I interned for TWE Daily and learned alot about what goes on behind the scenes, doing the work of reporter, writer and editor… but this is the first time for me being in a place to interview all the wonderful celebrities we love so much. I’m as nervous as I am excited! You have a good eye Anna… not much gets by you! This could be part of his “under cover” disguise or like the Detective Oscar Finlay character in Reacher, whose wife passed away and he can’t let her go so he constantly “fiddles” with his wedding ring. It was such a window into his past – so GREAT Q Anna – is this just surface disguise or is something darker going on here? So exciting to peel back all the layers of Mark Meachum! 😍
