Let’s #SaveCountdown
Preamble
Season one was over. The finale aired on September 2, 2025, and as each Wednesday ticked off the calendar, the fans of Countdown were missing their show more and more. In a collaboration effort, myself and CountdownTVSeries pooled forces to initiate something that would help fans get through the limbo-doldrums while waiting for Prime to make the official announcement that would solidify Countdown’s venture into subsequent seasons.
The call to action was made on September the 10th and we put out private messages, asking fans to submit video clips of how they are part of the Countdown family. The final product could be presented to the cast and crew of Countdown as a heartfelt thank you for all they did to produce season one of the show we fell in love with.
After fan videos were submitted via Dropbox by the September 30th deadline, the work began to edit each video to format them all to a uniform frame size, and to build the storyboards for presentation. But then, the unforeseeable happened on Friday Oct 10th. Prime pulled the plug.
What now?
After mourning Prime’s decision to do this, we had to keep moving forward with the project. We had to honor the love and devotion the fans intended to share with cast and crew, but how should we do it?
What we originally intended was to produce a video of “thanks.”
Now, we had fan submissions that contained all that loving sentiment just waiting for publication, but the presentation would need to pivot into a new effort. A new call to action.
We are parlaying all this fan-love into the original storyboards we created, one for each Countdown episode. We are going to release these video compilations one by one to keep fans motivated to the new cause. The most important one… #SaveCountdown.
Where Do We Go From Here?
All that fan love can serve two purposes. One, we can release the storyboards (13 of them) to help keep fan spirits up and keep motivating others to sign the petition. Second, we recommend that each fan go back into the petition and upload a copy of the video they submitted to us. Doing so will really boost its effectiveness and elevate its momentum and strength.
There are enough good forces out there starting to converge in strength and purpose in the best way possible, combining efforts to galvanize support and get Prime to reconsider their position. And let’s face it, taking action feels so much better than feeling sad.
Here is the first of our 13-part series of “fan-love;”
Don’t Forget to Keep Countdown Alive
Share, share and share some more!
Now is the time to make your voice heard. Sign the petition and help give Countdown the chance it deserves to find a new home, because some stories aren’t meant to be left unfinished.
