In the spirit of underscoring all the social media buzz about the upcoming, much anticipated premiere of Tracker season two, here’s our Tracker Anticipation Boost. We’ll all be tuned in and glued to our sets come October 13/24, as the new season launches. Equally anticipated is the gift of seeing the two brothers, Colter (Justin Hartley) and Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles), on screen together again in Episode 2 airing October 20th/24.

What We Know-S2E1
As episode synopsis’ are being shared (courtesy of IMDb, and CBS), this is what we know so far.
Episode 1 ‘Out of the Past’ promises to deliver all the excitement that comes with Colter’s weekly tracking assignments and this one will be no different. In the opening episode, while investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car was found abandoned on the side of the road in the backwoods of Arkansas, Colter makes a shocking discovery about the mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime. This episode also delves into some changes with our other primary characters, as we see Reenie (Fiona Rene) opening up her new law firm and enlisting Velma’s (Abby McEnany) help in setting up shop.

What We Know-S2E2
Episode 2 ‘Ontological Shock’ which includes the reappearance of Colter’s older brother Russell. Reenie recruits Russell to help find Colter who has disappeared while on a case to find a missing father. I’m sure there will be other character developments along side the brothers arc, so it will be exciting to see those details unfold as well.

A Few More Tidbits
- The show was an instant hit and was renewed for a second season only a few episodes into its debut.
- Tracker was CBS’s most-watched show since Young Sheldon premiered in 2018.
- It has been rated the number 1 show on cable since its premiere, according to Nielsen.
- This season, Tracker will have a 22 episode run, as opposed to the 13 episodes they did for season 1.
- Filming dates have been approximated as July 16/24 through April 22/25.
- Russell Shaw drives a black 60’s muscle car, a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible. A sideways nod to Dean Winchester’s beloved “Baby” on Supernatural.
Little Sidebar
I can’t help but wonder how nostalgic it must be for Jensen Ackles to be shooting back in Vancouver. He must be full of stories for the Tracker cast and crew about all the things he and Jared Padalecki got up to while filming Supernatural up there. I have no idea if any of the forest scenes we see these Tracker episodes are the same, but it brings a smile to my face thinking about it.
